LWR School Kits

School Supplies are "On Sale" Again!

Many of you take advantage of these early sales to buy supplies for the School Kits that we put together each year for Lutheran World Relief. We have a good supply of bags ready to be filled, they are at the Welcome Center. Take one (or several) home and fill it or just buy the supplies and bring them to church and we will have a "packing party" later in the year. Supplies needed are listed below.

Each school kit contains:
Spiral notebooks of ruled paper - 8 ½ x 11"
150 - 200 sheets or 3 of the 70 sheet size
1 blunt scissor
1- 12" ruler - centimeters on one side, inches on the other
1 pencil sharpener
6 new, unsharpened #2 pencils; secure with a rubber band
1 eraser, approx. 2 1/2"long
1 box crayons, 16 or 24 crayons
12 sheets of colored Construction paper

If you are making up a complete kit yourself, please take all plastic wrapping off.

"God Moment"

"When we first got to Seattle, walking from the train station to the church was already an immediate eye opener. Seeing so many homeless people was completely new and, I admit, a little scary to me. Then we worked on our first meal at Pioneer Square, at the Compass Center. Then the next day at Capital Hill....and I saw how real and kind these people are. Really quickly my sterotypes were completely blown. I thank God for that." "I saw God in every person’s eyes and smile when we served them."
